Larry Wayne “Loggerhead” Davenport, age 66, of Montevallo, passed away October 10, 2016 after a brief battle with liver cancer. He grew up in Siluria, the “black sheep” of his brothers and sisters. He served in the US Army in Vietnam. He worked with Bit Wyman at Wyman Construction for years. Logger loved Auburn football, watching NASCAR racing, and playing poker with his buddies. He was rough around the edges, but had a big heart. He will be missed by friends and family all over the country.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walt and Helen Davenport; and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Roper; grandchildren, Lacey, Kacey, Brandon, Whitney and Trenton Davenport; great-grandchildren, Abby, Jaylin, Sarah, Piper, and Braxton; and sister, Pat.



Services will be held at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo) on Saturday, October 15, 2016. Visitation will begin at 12:30 PM and his service will be held at 2:00 PM, with Bro. Mike Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Elliottsville Cemetery in Alabaster.
